Stay Away a Little Closer: A Documentary of John Ford Noonan
53 minutes
Director: Rick Rodgers

Infamous New York playwright John Ford Noonan has fallen on hard times since his glory days in the 70's at the Public Theater. In this uniquely haunting and powerful documentary, Noonan reflects on family and art as he leads us on a disturbing tour of what a life can become. Once acclaimed as America's most promising playwright, known for his off-Broadway success A Coupla White Chicks Sitting Around Talking, John Ford Noonan went on to face demons of alcoholism and drug addiction, never losing his way with words, his brio, or his riffs against the system. A fascinating documentary about a truly unclassifiable man. L

Eustice's Bag
15 minutes
Director: Daniel D'Alimonte

After being rejected, a painter returns home to an apartment with three home-made mannequins whose heads have been removed and replaced with old television sets. They have been staged as if talking to one another at a dinner party, drinks in hand and wearing vintage clothing. Three art heads, Roger, Tatiana and Marcus appear on the TV screens. As the "dinner party" proceeds, the painter is interrupted by the art curator he tried selling his work to previously. The painter quickly realizes that what appears to be a great opportunity to display his artwork becomes a moment of bitter disillusionment. L

The Last Page
22 minutes
Director: Kevin Acevedo

It is 1950. Lawyer Ian Hamilton is very angry at what he sees as the political and economic subjugation of Scotland by England and is outraged that Scots are somewhat ashamed to be Scottish. He decides to perform a symbolic act to put heart into the marginalized Scottish nationalist movement. He creates a daring scheme with a friend to liberate the Stone of Scone back from Westminster Abbey in London, where it has resided for centuries following the English military victories over the Scots in the Middle Ages.
